Jas. J. Humphries Passed To The Great Beyond
(From Thursday's Daily)
James A. Humphries, a well known resident of this city, died at
about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home at 121 North
Pleasant street, as a result of complications setting in from an
attack of pneumonia.
Besides his wife and three children, the deceased leaves a mother,
Mrs. Humphreys Williams. Mr. Humphreys was 38 years of age at the
time of his death.
He had lived in this county about 30 years, having come here at the
age of 8.
In poor health for several months past, he was compelled to give up
his profession of assayer, and the time of his sickness was employed
as time-keeper on Santa Fe construction work.
He came into Prescott from Congress Junction Monday night, very ill,
and died yesterday.
Transcriber's note: Mr. Humphreys is buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery
in Prescott, Arizona. It is unclear which spelling of his surname
is correct.
