William Ritter Dies. Funeral Wednesday
William Ritter, well-known Kirkland cattle rancher, died yesterday
at noon in the home of Mrs. G. H. Miller, of Miller Valley, where he
had come two weeks ago in order to be near his physician. He had
been ill for the past year. He was 72 year of age.
Born in California, the deceased was brought as a boy of four to
Arizona, where the family settled at the Rock House, four miles
south of Hillside, on the road along which freight teams plied
between Prescott and Ehrenberg.
He had lived in Kirkland since 1906, and was an active member of the
Arizona and Yavapai Cattle Growers association.
Ritter is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl J. Ritter, and two
brothers - Henry, of California, and Wayne R., of Tempe, Arizona.
Two other brothers, Edward and John pre-deceased him. He also
leaves a nephew, Curtis Ritter, of Kirkland, and a niece, Mrs.
Charles Lange, who is teaching school in Ashfork, who are son and
daughter of Edward Ritter. Another niece is Mrs. G. H. Miller, of
Miller Valley, daughter of John Ritter. Mrs. Alta Rose Cherry of
Miller Valley is also a niece.
The funeral, which will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the Lester
Ruffner Funeral Home, will be conducted by Charles Franklin Parker.
Interment will be in the family plot in the Simmons cemetery, Miller
Valley.
