| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, March 28, 2018, p. A-3 Elaine E. Ballard, 89, passed away March 19, 2018, in Apple Valley, Calif. She was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Chicago, Ill. Elaine married Richard Ballard following his military service on Feb. 2, 1946. They lived in Bishop, Calif., and later moved to Apple Valley. Richard retired in the 1980s and they moved to Aguila, in 1986. They enjoyed traveling and NASCAR racing. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2011; infant children Kathleen and Richard and daughter Nancy Waltz in 2012. She is survived by her child Dody Schedway and grandchildren Wendy King, Amanda (Patrick) Geyer, Austin Allen, Kama Waltz, Andrea Sidman, Cody Waltz, Jonathan Pollack; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, at 9 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Kenneth Piepenbrink officiating with interment to follow in the Eagle Eye Cemetery in Aguila.
