Pioneer Woman Is Suddenly Summoned

Mrs. Nancy A. Stringfield Dies Sunday Morning; End Comes Without
Warning

Mrs. Nancy A. Stringfield suddenly passed away Sunday morning in
this city after a brief illness due to heart trouble. Only a few
days before she had been mingling with relatives and friends, and
the final call of the reaper was most unexpected, proving a shock to
those so dear.

This woman was among the best known of her sex in pioneer circles.
She arrived in this city in 1875, coming across the plains in an ox
team with her husband, deceased many years ago. She submitted to
all the gravitations of the long ago in rearing to manhood and
womanhood quite a large family.

Graced with a pleasing personality, Mrs. Stringfield was a lovable
woman, Christian in kindly deeds freely extended, and with a
personality that made her universally admired and respected.

She was laid away yesterday afternoon in Mountain View cemetery,
Lester Ruffner conducting the funeral.

Those who survive are her son, Albert Stringfield, and daughters,
the Misses Alice, Vada, and Lizzie Stringfield. A brother, Sam
Pemberton, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Joyce, also are left to mourn her
loss.
