| Daily Miner, Kingman, Arizona - Posted on Sunday, April 8, 2018 - Christine Anne Cummins, age 58, of Henderson, Nevada passed away Monday, February 12, 2018. Christine was born April 23, 1959 to Max Herman Riley and Marjorie Carol Barraclough, in North Platte, Nebraska. She was the youngest of five children. She attended Pennekamp, Manhattan Heights Elementary schools and Foster A. Begg Jr. High, and Aviation High School in Manhattan Beach, California. Chris met Andy Cummins in 1978 at a friend’s wedding and they were married seven months later on November 25 at Manhattan Beach Community Church. They had four children and later moved to Kingman, Arizona were they raised their family and where she became a substitute teacher and served two terms on the Kingman School Board. She was active in recreational volleyball, softball, her social sorority and was an active member of Kingman High School’s Operation Prom Grad that she chaired one year. She raised her children, worked and attended Mohave Community College graduating with an associate degree. In 2002, the family moved to Big Creek, California where Chris started substitute teaching at Sierra High School and later became the Native American Liaison helping her band succeed in their life and high school careers along with working as a waitress part time at the Sierra House. When her mom became ill, Chris and family moved back to Henderson, Nevada and took care of her for six years. After her mom’s passing, Chris became a substitute teacher at Basic High School for ten years and later was hired as a special education assistant. Christine had a love of people and education. She loved her family and friends. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, Andy; her children, Justin, Christopher, and Sara; five grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Harper, Booker and Faith; her brother, Michael and sisters, Patricia and Roberta. We miss her smile and caring love so much. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, Nevada 89015.
