| The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, April 8, 1963, page 6, column 2 Fannie Bennett, Pioneer Resident, Dies In California Mrs. Fannie E. Bennett, born Nov 7, 1876, in Prescott to pioneer settlers, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindsay, died Saturday in Los Angeles, Calif., where she had resided for the past 13 years. Mrs. Bennett was one of two of the first women to graduate from St. Joseph's Academy in 1894. After she graduated from the Academy she taught in several county schools in the vicinity of Prescott for four years. On Dec. 23, 1898, she married Charles W. Bennett in the Sacred Heart Church. After her marriage she taught piano lessons in her home. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Church Parish for her entire life. Mr. Bennett preceded his wife in death in 1928. Mrs. Bennett is survived by a sister, Mrs. Cora A. Brow of Pomona, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Dan (Eileen) Seaman of Prescott, Mrs. Dorothy E. Holohan and Miss Amy Ruth Bennett, both of Los Angeles, and two sons, Neil and Morris, both of Prescott; three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren and one grandson, Superior Court Judge, William A. Holohan, of Phoenix. Rosary services will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Ruffner Funeral Home. Requiem Mass will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery. |
