| The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, May 1, 2018, page 5a Marjorie L. Fetterhoff, formerly of Prescott, passed peacefully away in Tempe on April 19, 2018. She was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Cross Timbers, Missouri, to Amos Deering Short and Euba Mae (Tankesley) Short. Marjorie graduated from Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Missouri, in 1940 and furthered her education at Central Business College in Sedalia, Missouri. After working in Sedalia and Jefferson City, she passed the Civil Service Exam and went to work at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., in February 1945. In October 1946, she married then Capt. Willard M. Fetterhoff at Fort Dix, New Jersey. In May 1947, they moved to Prescott, where he became principal of Prescott High School. They had three daughters — Anne, Mary and Donna. In 1965, he accepted a position at Arizona State University, and the family moved to Tempe, where Marjorie became active in ASU Faculty Wives. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a founding member of the Arizona Quilters Guild. During her lifetime, she pieced and stitched more than 200 quilts. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Pieszak (Scott Anderson) of Prescott Valley, Mary Allen-Lyddon (Ron Sanders) of Mesa, and Donna Davis of Chandler; grandchildren, Lee, Christina, Sonya, Erick and Will; and great-grandson, Logan. A celebration of Marjorie’s life was held recently at Tempe First United Methodist Church. Information provided by family. |
