Shirley Hamblen-Trevallee, 82, was born on June 25, 1935, in
Evansville, Indiana, and passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, in
Prescott, Arizona.

Shirley was a strong and independent woman who moved to Prescott in
1967 with her two sons, from Long Beach, California. She was loved
by all who met her and touched the lives of many. She was a
protector, a mentor and an inspiration to her family. Shirley worked
at Mile High Distributors and then moved to the Prescott Fire
Department as the Executive Secretary for the Fire Chief. She served
four chiefs prior to her retirement in 1996.

Through her love of hiking and membership in the Prescott Hiking
Club, she met her husband, Richard Trevallee. They enjoyed hiking
and camping throughout the southwestern United States. She never
lost her love for the mountains, even though she could no longer
hike.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard Trevallee; and sons,
Mark Hamblen and Scott Hamblen (Susan); stepson, Dean Trevallee
(Doreen); stepdaughter, Barbara Erwin (Gary); and grandsons, Preston
Hamblen, Clifford Hamblen and Wesley Hamblen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Hamblen.

Hampton Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.

A private internment of ashes will be held at a later date.

In Shirley’s memory, memorial contributions can be made to the
American Cancer Society.
