JoAnn Camille Murphy, born Aug. 2, 1931, in Bismark, North Dakota,
peacefully passed away April 29, 2018, after a long illness due to a
stroke in 2009.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Ray, of 45 years; her two
daughters, Dana and Lisa; five grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.
In her younger years, JoAnn was a fashion model in California, as
well as a former dance teacher. After retiring in the ’90s, Ray and
JoAnn moved from Studio City, California, to Prescott, Arizona, 24
years ago. JoAnn served as the President of the Women’s Division for
the Studio City Chamber of Commerce for many years. Once settled in
Prescott, JoAnn dedicated her time to community involvement,
especially Yavapai Humane Society, animal welfare and the prevention
of animal cruelty to all of God’s creatures and served as a Deacon
in her church. She enjoyed dancing, golf, bridge, tennis and her
family.
JoAnn was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and
will be incredibly missed by all.
