| Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, April 23, 1959, page 2, column 2 Yavapaian 50 Years Dies Here Yavapaian for 50 years and a good friend of Will Rogers, John W. Markham of Seligman, died in a Prescott hospital April 21, at the age of 82. He had entered the hospital on March 13 from Seligman, in which area he had been residing since 1909. Born Oct. 30, 1876 in Oklahoma, he attended school with Will Rogers near Weber Falls, Okla. In ------ when Markham was --- Seligman he received a ---- from the humorist. Markham came to Arizona from New Mexico around 1903, going to live at the H. Ranch near Ash Fork. He held interest in the OO Ranch. (Unreadable) Surviving him is a nephew, Dr. John Markham of Arvada, Colorado. Funeral services will be conducted -------- at 3 p.m. at the ------- Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Norman C.
