| Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, November 1, 1940, page 2, column 6 Death Claims Annie Miles Death claimed one of the pioneers of Prescott, Miss Annie Miles, 65, resident of Prescott for more than half a century, at a Phoenix, hospital yesterday. Miss Miles came to Prescott with her parents and had resided in the city, where she was active in mercantile business affairs, continuously. She had been head of the ladies ready-to-wear department of the Bashford-Burmister company for 35 years when she retired two years ago. Previously she had been associated the R. H. Burmister company. Miss Miles was a child when the family moved to Prescott, where her father became a prominent carpenter in the growing district. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Kate Stone, Prescott, a niece Mrs. Elva Carroll, Mohave, Calif., and a nephew, Warren Stone, Phoenix. Funeral services will be conducted at the Sacred Heart church, Prescott, tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in a family plot in Citizens cemetery.
