Mrs. Human Succumbs to Auto Injuries
Mrs. Lilly May Human, nee Milligan, died Monday night at a
Cottonwood hospital as a result of injuries suffered in an
automobile accident two weeks ago.
The accident occurred Dec. 13 when an the automobile, driven by her
husband, Art Human, went out of control rounding a curve. Mr. Human
was injured also but is no longer hospitalized.
Mr. Human was born in Missouri, Feb. 7, 1876, and came to Arizona in
1896. She was married to Mr. Human on June 11, 1913.
Before her marriage she lived for a number of years on the Milligan
ranch at Dewey and taught school in Dewey, Cottonwood, and several
other communities in Northern Arizona. The couple resided for some
time in Prescott, moving to their ranch on Oak Creek last year. Mr.
Human recently was retired from the highway department, having
served for many years in Ash Fork.
Mrs. Human is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Lester
Smith of Phoenix and Mrs. Velma Files of Glendale, Calif. who is
flying here today; and a brother, Walter E. Milligan of Prescott.
Another brother, Eugene Milligan died last May.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in
Cottonwood. Interment will take place in the Human family plot on
the Middle Verde Cemetery.
