| Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, November 26, 1913, page 6, column 4 To Pioneer Woman. (From Friday's Daily) Yesterday's funeral of Mrs. John Simmons was a deserved tribute (sic to those) who attended. Her many years as a resident of this locality were received in the many good acts she had accomplished, and for her pleasant personality on every occasion. Ruffner's chapel was filled with friends and relatives and with the many floral offerings, the scene was a sad one as the earthly career of this estimable woman came to an end. Rev. Anderson of the Methodist church, South, officiated and the remains ere laid away in Miller Valley cemetery, where so many members of the Simmons family are at rest. The pallbearers were: O. B. Marshall, William Richards, J. E. Russell, A. Cruickshank, W. D. Baker and Henry Suder. Transcriber's note: Mrs. Simmons is buried in an unmarked grave at the Simmons Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona |
