Austrian Meets Death In Mine Accident
Life Crushed Out By Loaded Ore Car In Lower Level Of The Blue Bell
Mine.
Ernest Rossi, an Austrian miner employed by the Blue Bell mine, met
with a fatal accident in one of the lower levels sometime during Frida
evening, death being due to being run over by a loaded ore car.
The details of the Accident could not be ascertained, the man being
alone at the time. It is presumed, however, from an investigation,
that the man did not use due to diligence in protecting himself, or
guarding against such an accident.
He was only 23 years, and has a brother working at a mining camp in
Southern Arizona.
Judge D. N. Jenkins of Humboldt, held an inquest, and a verdict was
rendered exonerating the company operating the mine..
The body was brought to Prescott for burial, and is at Ruffner's
awaiting advices from relatives.
Rossi had been dead for some hours before the discovery was made that
he had met with an accident.
Transcriber's note: Mr. Rossi is buried in an unmarked grave at the
Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
