| Naperville Sun (Naperville, Illinois) Tuesday, January 12, 2016 Henry Carlson (1927 - 2016) Henry "Hank" Carlson, age 88, a 49 year resident of Naperville, IL at rest Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at home with his family at his side. Born February 14, 1927 in Madison, WI, the son of the late Thorwald and Mary Carlson. Beloved husband of Ann for the past 64 years, loving father of Mary Ann Carlson of Madison, WI, Nancy Carlson Flory of Naperville, IL, Bill Carlson of Wickenburg, AZ, Susan (Eliot Ricciardelli) Carlson of Minneapolis, MN and the late John Carlson, cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Scott Weber) Flory, fond great-grandfather of Alison Flory, Jacob, Joseph and Jocelyn Weber, dear brother-in-law of Alice and Robert Livingston. Hank graduated from University of Wisconsin with a masters degree in mathematics and physics. Henry worked as a computer programmer for Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, CA; the Midwestern Universities Research Association in Madison, WI; and the Argonne National Laboratory in Argonne, IL. In his spare time he enjoyed the Chicago Symphony, Chicago Lyric Opera and golf. Henry and Ann loved to travel and they have visited all the fifty states and their capitols. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research would be appreciated. A private family service will be held at a later date.
