| Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, June 26, 1962, page 23, column 7 84-Year-Old Native of Prescott Dies Prescott - Services for Mrs. Lena Sanders Wells, 84, a member of one of the first families to settle in Prescott, will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Chapel in the Garden of Widmer's Mortuary. The eldest daughter of the pioneer couple, Thomas and Cynthia Miller Sanders who were married in Oct. 1873, Mrs. Wells died Saturday in the Arizona Pioneers Home. Mrs. Wells, known as Aunt Lena, was born at the family homestead which still stands near the Yavapai Community Hospital. She was a member of the Elks Ladies, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Rebekah Lodge, the Arizona Pioneer Association and the Skull Valley Community Church. Friends may call from noon today until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Mrs. Wells is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lois Henderson of Prescott; a sister, Mrs. Louise Taylor of Costa Mesa, Calif.; two granddaughters; three grandsons; 13 great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren.
