Joe Wayne Bishop
July 18, 1939 - April 19, 2018

He was born in Fort Supply, Okla., July 18, 1939, and moved to Portland, Ore., at age 5. He attended Lintton Elementary School, David Douglas High School and then joined the Navy in 1958 and served until 1962. He then followed the love of his life to Phoenix in 1967. Joe and Brenda were married Feb. 27, 1971. Dwane was born in August 1969. They have lived in Wickenburg since March 1971. Joe worked for Maricopa County as a dozer operator and then worked for Wheeler Construction for 28 years. Joe loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed many vacations with Brenda in their RV to many states and two cruises to Alaska. He was a pilot, silversmith and loved woodworking and remote control planes.

Joe was a huge family man; family always came first. He will be missed by his family, some friends he considered brothers and all the other many friends he had. He has left all of us with many memories to cherish. Rest easy, "Papa Joe" until we see you again.

Joe's family includes his wife Brenda of 47 years; son Dwane (Renee); grandchildren Shelby (24), Sabrina (22) and his siblings; Ann, John (Debbie) and Michael (Linda).

Services will be Saturday, April 28 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home at 10 a.m., with food and fellowship to follow at Coffinger Park after the service.

Online condolences may be sent to wicenburgfuneralhome.com. Arrangements were under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
