| Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, July 6, 1946, page 4, column 2 Arizona Pioneer Taken By Death James O. Shipp, 89 years old, a retired railroad engineer, died in his home at Cactus early yesterday morning. The funeral services have not been arranged. A native of Texas, Mr. Shipp came to Arizona in 1881 and worked on the Arizona and Eastern Railroad before it was combined with the Southern Pacific Company. He retired many years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Shipp; two sons, Oran Shipp, Phoenix, and Earl Shipp, Scottsdale, and a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Rydner, Phoenix. |
