| Weekly Arizona Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, November 25, 1891, page 3, column 2 (From Thursday's Daily) Bertha Shurtleff, a ten-year- old girl, whose mother formerly lived in Phenix, but came to Prescott from Jerome a few weeks ago, died yesterday of mountain fever. She had been sick for about six weeks The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of her mother on north Granite street. --------------------- Weekly Arizona Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, November 25, 1891, page 3, column 3 (From Friday's Daily) The public schools were dismissed this afternoon on account of Bertha Shurtleff's death. The school house flag was at half mass to-day on account of the death of little Bertha Shurtleff, one of the pupils. The pupils of Miss Tuttle's room attended the funeral of their late playmate, Bertha Shurtleff, this afternoon.
