Michael William Copus
Nov. 2, 1953 - May 11, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Michael William Copus, 64, of Wickenburg, announces his passing on Friday, May 11, 2018. Mike passed at his home in Glendale, surrounded by loved ones. Mike was born Nov. 2, 1953 in Lima, Ohio, but spent much of his childhood in Woodland Park, Colo., before his family moved to Wickenburg. Mike graduated from Wickenburg High School with the class of 1972 where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football.

After high school, Mike married Carol Thomas and raised three children. He became a master carpenter where he worked in Arizona, Wyoming and Nevada; but his true passion was always fishing. Mike was happiest on the water. In 1993 Mike returned to Arizona where he married Elizabeth Duarte and shared their life together in Glendale.

Mike was preceded in death by his infant son Cory Copus. He is survived by his loving parents Charles and Mary Copus; brother Ronald Copus; wife Elizabeth Copus; his children Ambershea Terhune, Joshua Copus and Kaylon Pike; step-children Trisha Bunch, Claudia Fenton, and Jenifer Duarte; and grandchildren Hailey Copus, Taylohr Terhune, Alexandra Terhune, Lillian Terhune, Isaac Copus, Holden Pike, Dylan Bunch, Brian Fenton, Jacob Fenton and twin sister Erin Fenton. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and friend. He will be missed.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held at Best Funeral Services in Peoria, 9380 West Peoria Avenue, on Friday, May 25, at 12 p.m., followed by a small reception. For more information, visit: https://obituaries.bestfuneralservices.com/michael-william-copus/.
