Weekly Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, October 11, 1911, page 2, column 3 James Silvey Is Claimed By Death (From Friday's Daily) James Silvey, for nearly thirty years a resident of this county, and a miner by occupation, after a lingering illness due to cancer of the stomach, passed away yesterday morning in this city. His death removes one of the best known citizens, and a man whose splendid fellowship was known to scores of friends and acquaintances. For several months he has been unable to pursue his work, and a few months ago was brought tot he city from Big Bug district to receive medical attention which proved unavailing. He was 48 years old and a native of Ohio. His only known relatives are two sisters, one residing in Columbus, Ohio, and the other in Moab, Utah. His body is at the Ruffner parlors and the date of interment will be announced. ------------------------------------------ The Copper Era, Clifton, Arizona Territory Friday, October 20, 1911, page 4, column 5 James Silvey, aged 48, a native of Ohio, died in Prescott, Oct. 5, 1911, of cancer of the stomach. He had resided in Yavapai county for over thirty years, was a miner by occupation, and a very worthy citizen. Transcriber's note: Mr. Silvey is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
