Mike Williams

Mike Williams, 79, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at his home in Bagdad,
Ariz. Mike was born Sept. 18, 1924, the son of Ross and Elva
(Patterson) Williams.

Mike moved to Globe from South Dakota in 1930 and eventually to Bagdad
in 1951. He worked in the mining industry since the age of 13 and
retired from the Bagdad Mine after 34 years in 1984.

He met the love of his life, Mary Stanley, and married her on Dec. 25,
1943. Mike was a former member of the Search and Rescue, Yavapai
Sheriff's Office Reserve, 4-H of Bagdad and the Bagdad Volunteer Fire
Department. He loved horses and enjoyed hunting. Mike was a family
man above all else and liked working in his yard. He was proudest of
his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary, of Bagdad; his
son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Donna Williams of Chino Valley;
Daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Patrick Pirtle of Elko, Nev.,
and Patty and Clyde Mosely of Bagdad. Mike is also survived by his
grandchildren, Ronny, Kristi, Justin, Marilyn, Bryan, Mike, and Kelli
and his great-grandchildren, Clay, Gabriel, Matthew, Olivia, Cheyenne,
Montana, Morgan, Shyla, Rene, Sherre and Robert. Also surviving is a
brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Janet Williams of Pea Ridge, Ark.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the
Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott. A graveside service
will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Mountain View Cemetery in
Prescott, with Mr. Ed Kellis officiating.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with the
arrangements.
