| Published in Today's News Herald on July 8, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona Floyd O. Barton passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on June 29, 2018. He was born at home in Crawford, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to Lucille E. Kennedy and Floyd H. Barton in 1926. While still a young boy, Floyd and his mother traveled by train to California where he spent the rest of his childhood, attending school in Bishop, California and helping on the family farm. In 1946 he joined the Coast Guard and served his country during WWII. He had a varied and illustrious career in law enforcement following his military service. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne. He is survived by 5 children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as one brother in Oklahoma. The family will hold private services at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu. |
