| Published in Today's News Herald on July 1, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Alfred (Rocky) Rhodes Jr. , 75, of Lake Havasu City passed away June 19, 2018. Rocky was born May 31, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Alfred and Lorraine Rhodes. He obtained his GED at Los Medanos Community College in Pittsburg, California. Rocky worked with Johns Manville, USS Posco and retired from PG&E. He spent the past 46 years with his loving wife Maria. They raised their family in Pittsburg until retiring to Havasu City. Rocky enjoyed riding his Harley with his wife. They traveled all over the U.S. and Canada on their motorcycle adventures. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a member of the Elks. Dancing with Maria brought Rocky great joy. Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lorraine Rhodes. Rocky is survived by his beautiful wife Maria Rhodes, children Mario Vega (Luwana), Hilda Porter (Bob), Gil Vega (Dawnja), Lorraine Rhodes- Stewart and Tina Rivera, siblings Ooawalla (Dusty) Rhodes and Randy McRoberts, 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service is July 6 at 11 a.m. at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. A celebration of life will is Sunday, July 8, at London Bridge Resort Convention Center, 1477 Queens Bay, 1-4 p.m. A celebration of life will be at a later date in Pittsburg.
