Greenfield--Scott "Burdman" Burdick, 62, of Greenfield, MA passed away on March 30, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his beloved daughters Julianne Burdick, 35, and Elissa Burdick, 31, along with his sister Linda Heath, brother Joe Hopkins, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Scott is predeceased by his mother Eileen Fitzgerald (d. 2015) and father Lawrence Burdick (d. 2015).

Scott grew up in Greenfield and worked mainly as a handyman, though spent time doing tree work, making scientific tools, and working as a machinist. He was a free soul who loved the outdoors, where he spent time fishing, bird watching, camping and gold prospecting which brought him to Wickenburg, Arizona where he lived for two years before returning to western Massachusetts to spend his final months with family. He was a proud member of the Gold Prospector's Association of America. Scott enjoyed working with his hands and was a skilled wood carver and whittler. He was also a self taught guitarist, favoring blues riffs and classic rock. Scott loved birds and could always tell you which bird was flying overhead or where to look to see a hawk, earning him the nickname "Burdman." He will be missed for his laughter, love of music, nature, and learning. He was very open-minded and had a loving, kind heart. Scott will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Scott's Life will happen from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 40 Main St. Apt. 1, Shelburne Falls, MA.
