Native Son Of Arizona, Dies
Prescott, May 2, - - Yavapai county lost one of the first native sons
with the death here today of John T. Shivers, 64 years old, born in
Little Chino valley. Hi father, D. W. Shivers, was one of the first
five cattle ranchers in Arizona.
Funeral services will be held at the Fred Harvey ranch in Little Chino
valley, close to his birth place, and burial will be in the family
plot near the old Shivers ranch house.
Mr. Shivers, who was in the cattle business during the greater part of
his life, is survived by a sister, Mrs. Morris Goldwater, of this
city, one son, David W. Shivers and five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Eads
and Mrs. Helen Simpson of this city, Mrs. Myrtle Vaughn and Mrs. Nora
Ba--- of San Diego, Calif, and Mrs. Lula Bell of Kansas City, Mo., and
granddaughter, Miss fern Eads, a student at the University of Arizona.

Del Rio Cemetery in Chino Valley, Arizona.
