Lake Havasu City, Arizona -

It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Alan Moir, 49,
announce that this gentle soul passed away while asleep at his home in
Lake Havasu City on May 21, 2018.

Described by the many who loved him as a relentlessly cheerful man and
a friend to all, Alan moved to Havasu from Canada in 1983. A 1987
graduate of Lake Havasu High School, he later studied at the
University of Arizona.

In 1995, he returned to Havasu and worked as the Director of
Activities at the Queens Bay Resort before beginning a career in radio
in 2008. As vice president of operations and station manager for
Murphy Broadcasting, Alan oversaw the running of all the company's
stations in Mohave County.

Fiercely loyal to his family and friends, Alan loved his home and was
extremely dedicated to his job and co-workers.

Brilliant and funny in equal measure, Alan was known for his quick
wit, patient spirit, and comprehensive knowledge. At one point he was
ranked as one of North America's foremost trivia experts. His
speciality was music and film. He had a deep, emotional connection and
encyclopedic knowledge of both.

Alan is survived by his mother Nancy Hamling (Donald), father Jim
(Lynda), sisters Shelley Field (nee Moir) (Nicholas), and Melanie, and
grandmother Eleanor.

Alan never married, and had no children of his own, but was an
important figure in the lives of his closest friends' children,
providing to them an outstanding example of diligence, politeness, and
caring.

Alan will never be forgotten, and a warm and welcoming celebration of
the life of this remarkable man is 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the
Bridgeview Room at Shugrue's, 1425 N. McCulloch Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alan's memory may be made to
Lake Havasu High School Audio Club c/o Sam Brindis.
