| Published in Today's News Herald on May 27, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Maria Alexandra Escamilla was born on September 23, 1934, in Charlotte, Texas to Jose Josefa Escamilla. She died on May 8, 2018, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, at the age of 83. She attended Jourdation High School. Marie married Raymond Martinez Jr. and had three beautiful children. Marie enjoyed watching her children participate in baseball and cheerleading in their younger years, gardening, sewing, and cooking. When Marie became a grandmother to eight grandchildren, her life entered the next exciting chapter of her life. Making sure to spoil them rotten, stock the house with their favorite foods, and being all good things grandmas should be. Marie is survived by her children Marty Martinez, Ronnie Martinez, Debbie Le Grand, their spouses, and their children. She also is survived by Rudy Escamilla, Maria Lydia Rodriguez, Elida Ayala, and Eloida Escamilla. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
