Hugo A. Thorbecke, 82, a pioneer baker in Prescott and Jerome, will be 
recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in McMillan Funeral Home in Jerome.

Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Catholic 
Church in Jerome.  Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in 
Clarkdale.

Mr. Thorbecke, 2205 E. Mitchell, had owned a bakery in his native 
Prescott before he started operating the Jerome Bakery in 1919.  He 
retired in 1952 and resided in Phoenix the past 10 years.  He was a 
member of Elks Lodge 1361, a Moose lodge and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy; a son, Joseph of Phoenix; a 
daughter, Mrs. Mary O'Leary of Sacramento, Calif.; and six 
grandchildren.
