Remains of Mother Laid By Side Of Her Daughter

(From Friday's Daily)

Yesterday afternoon at 3:30 all that was mortal of a true and loving
wife and mother was laid to rest in the citizens' cemetery, where the
remains of Mrs. Joseph Thorbecke were interred by the side of those of
her daughter, Mrs. Frances Holbrook, who passed away only three days
before.

The funeral took place from the Catholic church, and was one of the
largest seen here for some time, showing the high esteem and regard in
which the departed pioneer lady was held in the community, where she
made her home for so many years.

The floral tributes were many, embracing a number of beautiful and
appropriate designs.

The pallbearers were Robert Birch, William T. Birch, Adolph Moser, J.
S. Atkins, D. Rees and Jules Baumann.

All of her immediate and surviving relatives here were present at the
funeral, with the exception of her daughter, Miss Alma Thorbecke, who
has been in a very serious condition from nervous prostration since
the death of her sister on last Saturday night.
