| Published in Today's News Herald on July 18, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Lake Havasu City, AZ Van Cybulski, 85, died peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his daughter Angela S. Dubrovin (Victor Dubrovin) of Superior, CO, and sons Mark A. Cybulski of North Chicago, IL and Van A. Cybulski (Laurie Minns) of Missoula, MT; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his spouse (Donna), son (Walter Cybulski),parents (Walter and Wladyslawa Cybulski), brother (Bogdon Tadeusz), and sister (Zenia Killian). He was born October 29, 1932 in Poland. Due to the events and battles leading up to WWII, the destruction of their home and property, and various separations of family members, they embarked with many other Poles on a long, arduous journey that took them through central Asia and Siberia. They eventually settled in Mexico where they lived for 3 years before being granted entry to and citizenship in the United States.He attended Holy Rosary and Waukegan Township High School. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. On August 9, 1953 he married his high school sweetheart Donna Bollman, settling in North Chicago, IL where they raised four children. He worked as a skilled tradesman, pattern maker,and machinist for over 40 yearsand spent the last 20 years working in the Science Department of Lake Forest College before retiring in 1996. He greatly cherished his time there and the many lasting friendships he made. After retirement, he and his wife, Donna, bought a home in Lake Havasu City where he resided until his death.He attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Moose, American Legion and Knights of Columbus fraternal organizations and enjoyed an active social life with his many friends. A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Lake Havasu City on Thursday, July 19, from 1:004:00PM. Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
