| Published in Today's News Herald on July 26, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Evelyn Irene (Musgrove) Thomas, of Morgan Texas, passed away on July 11, 2018 at the age of 100. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Evelyn was born on September 29, 2017, in Walters Oklahoma to John and Grace (Howland) Musgrove. On February 14, 1942, she married Hallie Harold Thomas in Guthrie, Oklahoma. During World War II, she worked in California as a welder on military ships, and like many women who worked in this capacity during the war, she came to be known as a Rosie the Riveter. She was a teacher and taught at the elementary levels during most of her teaching career, retiring in the late 70s. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Hal, in May 1987, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include her children, Rene Drischler of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Grace Miller of Morgan, TX, Grandchildren Tom Drischler, Ed Drischler and wife Jerri of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Ginger Barger, Crockett, TX, Jennifer Warren and husband Lloyd of Blum, TX, 4 great grandchildren, Renee Drischler, Katy Warren, Kallie Barger, Kacey Barger and 2 great-great grandchildren, Lennon Drischler, Josey Barger, and a Sister, Alpha Marshall of Victorville, California. |
