| Published in Today's News Herald on July 25, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona >> February 17, 1930 – June 23, 2018 << Wanda Pestana, age 88, passed away on June 23rd in Roseville, CA. She moved to Roseville in 2015 to be near her daughter's family, lived at Roseville Commons for two years and recently at Brookdale Memory Care. She attended Grace Church in Elk Grove with her daughter and son-in- law. Wanda was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana to parents Howard and Margaret Nichols. She graduated from Garfield High School and attended two years at Indiana State University. Wanda held several interesting jobs in her lifetime, but the one she enjoyed and excelled at the most was as co-owner of her own decorating business, Decorating Den, with her husband, Bud Cannon. Her love of making homes look beautiful was evident in her own home as well as her clients. She passed on this love to her granddaughter, Lori, who is a Certified Interior Designer in Sacramento, California. After her husband Bud passed in 1998, Wanda moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ, where she later met and married Norbert (Knobby) Pestana in 2002. They both had found the love of their lives! They had many friends in Lake Havasu, were members of the Elks Club and entertained often. They also loved to travel and went on trips to Hawaii, Portugal and visiting family all over the United States. Wanda was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed keeping up with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a great cook and was famous for creating her own recipes. She compiled a Family Cookbook and gifted a copy to each of her children and grandchildren in recent years. Wanda is survived by her three children, Lyn (Larry) Vaught, H.R. Radtke, and Jeff (Cindy) Radtke as well as her five grandchildren, Brooklyn (Ben) Campbell, Jonathan (Julie) Radtke, Lori (Robert) Brazier, Evan Radtke and Kris Radtke and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by five step-children, Bill (Michelle) Cannon, Colleen (Howard) Kaushansky, Jim (Charlotte) Cannon, Cathy (Jack) Lambert and Alison Cannon. Wanda was a sweet, kind, strong individual. She passed on these traits to her children and we will forever be grateful for her loving influence in our lives. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. No immediate services are planned. The family will gather in Lake Havasu at Thanksgiving to have a Celebration of Life ceremony and carry out Wanda and Knobby's wishes. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Wanda's name to the Alzheimer's Association of Sacramento. |
