John Kenebrew Browning Jr. passed away peacefully in the early
morning hours of May 16, 2018.

Born Oct. 22, 1944, he loved a Willie tune, a Whataburger, and his
home state of Texas. John grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was
a 1963 graduate of W.B. Ray High School, before earning a degree in
Business Administration from North Texas State University in Denton,
Texas. He moved his family to Arizona in 1974.

John had a long career in sales and radio. Over time he worked for
Ralston-Purina, was co-owner and general manager for KNOT radio in
Prescott, Arizona, and worked for both KNIX and KMEO after
relocating to Phoenix. Retiring in 1995 he was a dedicated man about
town, enjoying sports, sharing meals, and the company of a wide
circle of friends.

John was predeceased by his parents John Kenebrew Sr. and Lois White
Browning, and by his brother Boyd James Browning.

He is survived by his daughters Lauren (Greg) Miller and Heather
(Brett) Arabie, both of whom live in the Austin area; and by his six
grandchildren: Erin Miller, Brian Arabie, Jacob Miller, Benjamin
Miller, Sarah Arabie, and Joshua Miller. Additionally, he is
survived by an extended family of cousins with whom he was raised
and loved dearly.

Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Corpus
Christi, Texas, in late June. If desired, donations in John’s memory
may be made to Austin Hospice’s Christopher House.
