The Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, June 1, 2018, page 6a James Paul Trantham passed away at his home in Prescott, Arizona on May 22, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Los Angeles, California, on May 27, 1937, to Woodrow and Georgia Trantham. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellie, of 61 years; son Randy Trantham of Prescott; daughter Ronda Hayter (Jim) of Prescott; five grandchildren, Brandon, Sam, Karlee, Morgan and Nathan; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ben and Matthew; sister, Betty Hebison of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister-in-law, Verna Miller (George) of Prescott; sister-in-law, June Cottingham of Prescott; and brother-in-law, Carl Engel (Pam) of Brea, California, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. While living in Cypress, California, Jim worked for North American Aviation as a quality control project engineer. In 1972, he then moved his family to Parker, Arizona. During his seven years in Parker, he was the co-developer and co-owner of the Jolly Knight trailer park, real estate broker, assistant fire chief, volunteer deputy sheriff, EMT and a rescue diver on the Colorado River. In 1980, Jim moved his family to Prescott, where he was a Real Estate Broker for 27 years. He was the President for the Prescott Area Association of Realtors in 1996. He also served many years as a volunteer deputy sheriff for Yavapai County. Jim had many activities he loved. He was a certified scuba diver, avid tennis and pickleball player and enjoyed his weekly bowling leagues. He loved traveling the world but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends! A Celebration of Life will be held at the Heights Church, at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2121 E.
