VARGO, Helen

Helen Vargo (Simon), 86, of Fountain Hills passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2007. She was born in New Brunswick, N.J., and resided there most of her life before moving to Fountain Hills in 1994. She was a communicant of the Church of the Ascension, Fountain Hills, a member of the Daughters of Isabella and a volunteer at the Fountain Hills Branch Library. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Mary Simon, three brothers and four sisters. Surviving are four daughters, Joyce (Alton) Thompson of Port Richey, Fla., Margaret (Richard) Carey of Mt. Judea, Ark., Stephanie (Robert) Schuler of Sugarland, Texas and Christine (David) Whitman of Fountain Hills; and a brother, Lt. Col. Eugene Simon, of Columbus, N.J. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Paul Kubin, Amy Kubin, Jennifer (Will) Groves, John Carey, Melanie (Body) Ntherland, Sarah Whitman and Mathew Whitman; one great-grandson, Rohan Groves; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at Church of the Ascension on Friday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the charity of choice. Fountain Hills Times October 24, 2007
