| Published in Today's News Herald on Sept. 7, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Philip K. Hatch, 75, known to his family and friends as "Phil," passed away Aug. 24, 2018 with his family by his side. Phil was born in Logan, Utah on June 11, 1943 and moved to California with his family at a young age. Phil was a firefighter with the Los Angeles County Fire Department and retired as a captain in 1998. Upon retirement, Phil moved to Lake Havasu City. He was active in the Havasu 4 Wheeler Jeep Club. He was also a member of the Desert Hawks R.C. (remote control) airplane club and loved flying planes. Phil and his wife Pattie loved to travel in their motor home. They often spent their summers in Colorado and you could find them in Glamis at any given moment during the winter months. Phil also enjoyed fishing. Most of all, Phil loved spending time with his family and friends. Phil is survived by his wife, Pattie Hatch of Havasu, sister Penny Dobson of Portland, Oregon, stepsister Cheryl Hager of West Hills, California, sons Philip and Larry Hatch of Havasu, stepson, Steve Dulmage of Havasu and stepdaughter Kristie Willemstyn of Murrieta, California. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. A celebration of Phil's life is 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Lake Havasu Golf Club, 2400 Clubhouse Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu by calling 928-453- 2111. |
