| Published in Today's News Herald on Sept. 20, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Robert Brian Scott of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 15, 2018. He was born to Jewell and Edythe Scott in South Gate, California on June 11, 1934. Bob went to school at Downey High and graduated class of 1952. He worked at Overmeyer Mold. In 1959 he moved to San Jose, California and became captain at the Santa Cara County Fire Department. He worked there until he was medically retired. He met his love, Vallie, and married her in San Jose, California on June 11, 1967. They were blessed with 51 years together. They have lived in Lake Havasu City for 40 years. They moved to Havasu to help his brother J.T. "Scotty" Scott start his business, Scott Automotive (now Joe's Automotive) on Lake Havasu Avenue. They enjoyed boating for years and loved traveling, camping and fly fishing. They started spending summers at Mammoth Lakes, California and worked as hosts at the New Shady Rest Campground. They did this yearly until Bob's health kept him from being able to be in the higher elevation. He was a member of the Association of Retired Santa Clarita County Fire Employees. Bob was the last of his immediate family. He is preceded in death by his parents Jewell Thomas and Edythe (Baker) Scott, son, Donald Brian Scott, brother; J.T. "Scotty" Scott, and sister; Barbara (Scott) Moore. |
