Former Mesan Dies At Coast
MESA, Nov. 17--Funeral services for Richard L. Passey, 27 years old, who died Sunday morning in a Los Angeles hospital, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the chapel of the Meldrum Mortuary, with Bishop J. O. Stradling officiating.
Mr. Passey was stricken ill while working Saturday and was rushed to the hospital where he died a few hours later. An autopsy preformed Sunday afternoon revealed he had died of acute pneumonia.
Born in Antimony, Utah, April 25, 1914, he came to Mesa with his parents when he was four years old. They are Mr. and Mrs. James S. Passey, who reside here. He attended Mesa schools and six years ago married Florence Rogers, member of a pioneer Mesa family. They had made their home in Los Angeles the past two years, where he was employed as a mechanic.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by two children, Richard Boyd and Judith Ann; also three brothers, Arthur Passey, Los Angeles; Floyd Passey of Salome; and Harold Passey of Phoenix; also three sisters, Mrs. Leola Wright of Salome, Mrs. Helen Moyers, Duncan, and Miss Viola Passey of Mesa.
Interment will be in the Mesa Cemetery.
