Richard Belton Forsythe, beloved husband, father, pop-pop, brother and friend passed away on Monday, November 6, 2006 at the age of 69. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, TN on August 16, 1937. Dick and his family moved to CA in 1938 and remained there until he retired in January 2000 when he and his wife of 44 years, Marilyn, moved to Black Canyon City where he immediately became involved in the community and volunteered with many local organizations. Dick has always been very active in his church, most recently the New River Church of Christ. He served as an elder in El Cajon and West Anaheim congregations in CA. His love of the desert and the many family sand dune trips are very special memories. Dick is also survived by two daughters, Kerrie Clark and husband David of Vienna, VA, and Denise Vaughn and husband Mark of Dewey, AZ. Grandchildren are Jessica Vaughn of Malibu, CA and Andrew, Stephen and Julia Clark of Vienna, VA. Also one sister, Dott Coffman of Lubbock, TX, many very special nieces and nephews and many special friends. Memorial services will be held at the Community Church in Black Canyon City on Thursday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. with Dillard Harwell and Robert Farr officiating. Another service will be held in Anaheim, CA at the West Anaheim Church of Christ on Saturday, November 11th at 10:00 a.m. with Dillard Harwell and John Buttery officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley or any Cancer Research Foundation of your choice.
