| The Shelbina, Torchlight, Shelbina, Missouri Friday, January 22, 1911, page 1 W. O. Murray received a message from Prescott, Arizona yesterday announcing the death of James Schmidt, a former resident of Shelbina. Mr. Schmidt had been in poor health for several years. He moved to Arizona about five years ago seeking a more favorable climate. The body, accompanied by the family, is expected to arrive here Sunday afternoon or night. The funeral and burial will take place here, probably on Monday. Deceased was about 49 years old and leaves a wife and two sons, Samuel and Lewis, aged 17 and 21 years, surviving. Mrs. Schmidt is a sister of Mrs. W. O. Murray. Mr. Schmidt was a member of Shelbina Camp M.W. of A. and carried a #1000 insurance in the order. He was a native of Indiana, aged 49 years. He leaves a wife and son, who were with him during his last hours in the flesh. Lester Ruffner shipped the remains to the former home of deceased at Shelbina, Mo. Mrs. Schmidt and son accompanied the remains. |
