| Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory - Lake Havasu Richard Fred Sprankel, 80, passed away suddenly on August 28, 2018 at 5:25 PM. Richard was born February 4, 1938 in Billings Montana and attended school there until the age of 17 when he joined the US Army. After his tour with the US Army he became a Glazier in which he retired from. Richard loved collecting coins, was an amateur quick draw competitor, and loved painting and woodworking. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Sprankel, parents Fred and Marie Sprankel, brother Glen Sprankel, sister Peggy Sprankel and daughter Debera Edwards. He is survived by his daughter (Sandy Desmarteau and her partner Mike Case), son (Richard Sprankel, Jr,) and step son and his wife (Troy and Vicky Whalen), brother Robert Sprankel and his wife Ruth, his brother Donald Sprankel and his wife Debera, 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A celebration of life took place in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he lived at the time of his death, on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Richard's request were to have ashes scattered in Montana along with his wife and 2 dogs, which will take place in early summer 2019, his immediate family members will be in attendance.
