BLACK CANYON CITY-John J. Manarolla, 71, who had been a railroad clerk, died March 26, 1984, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Phoenix.

Mr. Manarolla, of Black Canyon City, was born in Wyoming and moved to Arizona 1 1/2 years ago from Utah. He served in the Army in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Vinnie; daughters, Betty Byce, Katy Jones and Leana Culley; sons, Sheldon Ashdown and Gary Ashdown; three sisters and two brothers; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 W. Bethany Home, Phoenix, where memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday.
