MAYER, Bonnie J.

Bonnie J. Mayer, 53, of Wagon Wheel died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. She was born Oct. 7, 1955, in Encino, Calif. She was raised and attended school in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and graduated from Moorpark College. Following graduation, she entered the U.S. Army serving for six years and was stationed in Germany. She worked for Andrews Corporation in Simi Valley before coming to the White Mountains in 1991, where she worked for Safeway and Wal-Mart. She married Peter Mayer July 25, 1991. She was a member of the VFW Post 9907 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Peter, and sister Doreen Vest of Odom, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Memorial services were held Monday, May 18, at the Show Low VFW Post. Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
