| Published in Today's News Herald on Dec. 5, 2018 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona >> Gerald "Jerry" Benson << >> 8/22/1929 – 11/24/2018 << With great sadness, the nephew of Jerry announces his passing on Saturday, Nov 24, 2018, at the Bonaventure Nursing Home, Castle Rock, CO. He was born on August 22, 1929. He is survived by his twin brother, Garrett, sister, Gail, son, Eddie (Jeannean), daughters, Linda Thompson and Brenda White Eagle, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great- grandchildren. His wives, Claire, Marge, Betty, Melva, and Mary Frances, his siblings, Howard, Helen, Ruth, Jane Ellen, Alice, and Richard predeceased Jerry. He was a Korean veteran and combat infantryman. He was wounded in combat three times and awarded the Purple Heart. He was a long-time resident of Canon City, CO and Lake Havasu, AZ, where he was a business owner, rabbit rancher, furniture-store owner, rental property owner, among other things. He was a Shriner and a member of the VFW Post and the FOE in Havasu. His Funeral Service will be on Saturday, Dec 8, 2018, 10:00 am, at the Lake Havasu Mortuary, Lake Havasu AZ, and Committal Service at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, Lake Havasu, AZ.
