| Published in the Daily Miner on Oct. 27, 2018 - Kingman, Arizona - “A beautiful soul has passed away” Russell David Grubbs 70, of Kingman, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2018 at his brother’s home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Russell was born on Feb. 29, 1948 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to Arizona with his parents and siblings, where he lived most of his life. Russell served in the Army, in Korea in 1968. Russell will always be remembered as the “hippie in town.” He was a kind man always willing to help others. He enjoyed spending time at his favorite restaurant, Grandpa’s Kitchen, where he’d meet up with friends. He would often help fold silverware for a cup of coffee and as he described it, “a most delicious breakfast prepared by his favorite chef!” Russell enjoyed watching football, playing the family’s marble game with friends and toking on his favorite cigarette. He leaves behind a brother, sister, nieces, nephews and many close friends. He also leaves behind Poncho, his closest companion. In lieu of a Celebration of Life ceremony, Russell will journey to Costa Rica and be laid to rest at the same waterfall as his parents. We ask that you remember him in your hearts and find peace in knowing that he is now an angel to watch over us. |
