Wesley "Smitty" Smith, 75, of Black Canyon City, owner of Smith Sand and Gravel Co., died June 18, 1997. He was born in Portland, Ore., and was a World War II veteran. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Lions Club. Survivors include his daughter, Catherine R.; son, Richard T.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, 21000 Perry Buchanan Road, Black Canyon City, with visitation two hours before services, at the family residence. Contributions: Smitty's A. A.
