Harold Reed Foster, 96, an editor for the Minneapolis Journal for 25 years, died March 26, 1986, at Village Green Nursing Home. Mr. Foster, of Phoenix, was born in Warren, Ill., and moved to Arizona 16 years ago from Florida. He graduated from Simpson College and did graduate work at Northwestern University, Stanford University and the University of Colorado. Prior to his career at the Journal, he worked as a teacher and coach for several years. When the paper was sold, he helped organize the Northwest Chain Store Council, serving as secretary and executive director. He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Delta Upsilon fraternity and Delta Kappa fraternity. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Jean Anthony and Margaret Johnson; son, T. R. Foster; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Private arrangements were made by Mortensen-Kings Funeral Center.
