Claud V.H. Harbey, 82, a retired Navy engineer, died May 31, 1984, at Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Mr. Harbey, of Phoenix, was born in Colorado City, Texas, and moved to Arizona from Houston last year. He served in World War II and the Korean War, retiring as a chief petty officer after 20 years with the Navy. He also worked 10 years with the El Paso, Texas, fire department. He was a 32nd degree Mason, of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Penny; stepdaughters, Dolly Hunt and Mary L. Christenson; stepsons, Curtis, Jerry and Robert Jepson; a brother; 14 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Military services were held at Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Chapel of the Chimes, Glendale, made arrangements.
