| Arizona Republic (Phoenix, AZ) Thursday, March 9, 1989, p. B4 Death is probed; man was missing for 5 years Authorities are asking for help in determining what led to the death of a Phoenix man whose remains were found last month in the desert near Morristown after he had not been seen for more than five years. The remains of Jeffrey Wade Billups, who was 21 years old when he was last seen, were found Feb. 24 by a hunter, said Detective Ken Floyd of the Maricopa county Sheriff's Office. Floyd said investigators have been unable to determine how Billups died and are unsure whether foul play was involved. Billups' last known address was in the 8400 block of West Heatherbrae Drive, Floyd said. The man's parents, Dorothy and Martin D. Billups of Wittmann, never filed a missing-person report on their son because they normally had little contact with him and were unaware he was missing, Floyd said. Anyone with information about Billups is asked to contact Floyd at 256-1600. See Also: Find A Grave |
